If you want to study in Argentina you need a VISA! Also when you are only here for 6 months. In Germany you can not apply for one, so you have to do it in Argentina.
There are 3 steps.
1. First step is to fill out a paper from you university in Argentina (waiting time: 0 hrs.)
2. With this paper you need to go to the Registro Nacional de Reisidencia del Ministerio de Justicia with fotocopys of the first 2 pages from you passport and you original passport. When you get there you need to fill out another paper with your personal data, your address in Argentina and do not forget to pay 50 pesos in cash. They will also take your finger prints of all 10 fingers. When your lucky they take them digitally…if not, do not forget some napkins to clean your hands! (waiting time: 1-3 hrs.)
3. If you are lucky, your argentine university will go to pick up the form you get from the Registro Nacional de Reinsidencia, after 8 hrs. If not you need to go back to get it. The third step is your way to the Direccion Nacional de Migraciones, to get your real visa. There you need your original passport, fotocopies of EVERY page from your passport, including the white pages, the form from the Registro Nacional and another paper that says that you are enrolled in the argentina university. If you plan to stay longer than 6 months in Argentina (1 year study abroad or working) you need a criminal record statement from your country, translated in spanish. And again, do not forget to pay the 200 pesos in cash!
Please, go very early, when they open (7.30! Be there are 7.15 or 7.00). You need to be prepared for a waiting time between 2 – 6 hrs. I hope you do not have any plans that day. Do not get mad because there are 10 people but ony 4 are working because the others are chatting and drinking mate. Take a good book and nice music so you stay calm.
After 2 weeks you need to go back to the Direccion Nacional de Migraciones, to pick up the real visa. It is better when you go after 3 or 4 weeks, so you can be sure that they actually have it done.
To sum up. You need:
- fotocopies of the first 2 pages of your passport
- fotocopies of every page of your passport, including the empty pages
- your original passport
- 250 pesos
- form from the argentine university to be filled out
- form from the Registro Nacional de Reinsidencia
- an enrollment paper from the argentine university
- criminal record statement (in spanish)
- and LOTS OF TIME AND PATIENCE: in total you need to wait more or less 9 hors. (plus the 3 weeks you wait to pick up the
real visa)
